The Ghosts of Victoria Festival: Accomodations and Dining

The Ghosts of Victoria Festival is held each year from mid-October to Halloween. Whether you are from out of town or you live in Victoria, add to your Ghosts of Victoria Festival experience by staying in a haunted place and having a meal in a haunted restaurant. There are many hotels, restaurants and pubs in Victoria where you can find the company of ghosts. A partial list is included below. Please contact them individually for information or reservations. Accommodation, Restaurants and Pubs

For those who want a more intimate experience with spirits from the other world, there are plenty of places to stay, eat and drink that can oblige. Largest of the haunted hotels downtown is the Bedford Regency (384-6835), overlooking Bastion Square. The Cherry Bank Hotel (385-5380), the James Bay Inn (384-7151), the Gatsby Mansion (388-9191), Scholefield House B & B (385-2625 or 1-800-661-1623), and the English Inn and Resort (formerly the Olde England Inn) (388-4353) provide both accommodation and restaurants with resident ghosts.

Haunted restaurants and pubs around Bastion Square (the core of Victoria's haunted district) are: Camille's Fine Westcoast Dining (381-3433), the Garrick's Head Pub (384-6835), Pounders Restaurant (388-3181) and Chandler's Seafood Restaurant (385-3474). Nearby in Market Square is the Green Cuisine Vegetarian Restaurant (385-1809).

Beyond the city centre, but a short walk away in James Bay are: the Gatsby Mansion (388-9191) and The Bent Mast (383-6000).

A short walk from downtown across the Johnson Street Bridge are two more haunted restaurants: the Princess Mary (386-3456) and Spinnakers Brewpub and Restaurant ( 386-2739).

Slightly farther from downtown are: the English Inn and Resort in Esquimalt (388-4353), the historic Four Mile House (479-2514) in View Royal,
the 17 Mile Country Pub (642-5942) in Sooke, the Fireside Grill at Royal Oak (479-1222) and the Stonehouse Pub & Restaurant at Canoe Cove in Sidney (656-3498).
